Hoven

When Becca was little, she had crazy hair. Well, she still kind of has crazy hair, but she has figured out how to tame it and, actually, look pretty hot. But when she was little, my mom wasn't sure exactly what to do with it, so she'd brush it. And brushing+curlyhair=frizz. Sometimes we'd tease it to see how big we could get it. We had a bust of Beethoven on our piano and HE had crazy hair too. So I told Becca her nickname should be Hoven. Naturally, she wasn't impressed. Except that then I told her Hoven was the name of the most beautiful woman in the land at the time. She skeptically bought it.

The thing is? Becca has always had the extraordinary ability to laugh at herself. To not take herself too seriously. Actually, for a while there we worried that she needed to take things a bit MORE seriously. Becca is one of the people who unapologetically does what she's going to do. She has one of the best senses of humor out there, reads any self-help book she can get her hands on, is a nerdy Harry Potter fangirl, and still has time to talk and eat and laugh and talk and eat some more with me. I can't quite describe how pleased I was that she would spend her Spring Break with my little family. Or that she came out to visit and help right after Gemma was born.

So today I celebrate Becca turning 22. With her, there's never a dull moment. Even sleeping, she's always sure to entertain. Like the time she tried to microwave her blanket. Good times.

Haha I hate the sound of 'self help' books...it's makes me sound crazy or depressed...I just think they are really interesting! Haha. Thanks for the shout out!
