I can't believe it has been a year since Melissa died. She fought for so long and endured more than anyone ever thought possible. So much has happened since then, and yet it seems like just a couple months ago.

Yesterday, as we sat around the dinner table talking about Easter and what it means, Donovan observed that the Resurrection makes it possible to see Melissa again. Even though she is no longer with us, I am glad that Melissa remains a presence in our lives. We continue to remember and feel her love, and her goodness will be a lasting example of faith and devotion.

It's one of the worst kind of anniversaries to acknowledge, but she deserves to be remembered. Today, and everyday.

I was reminded yesterday while teaching my primary lesson that not only will we be resurrected, but that our bodies will be made whole again. What a wonderful blessing that will be! And one that I think you can appreciate too - seeing what Melissa went through. Happy Easter to us all!
